Using X / Twitter with dlvr.it

dlvr.it automatically shares content from your RSS feeds and other sources to your X / Twitter profile — keeping your audience engaged without the manual effort. This article covers everything you need to know about using X / Twitter with dlvr.it.

To connect your X / Twitter account to dlvr.it, make sure you're logged into the correct X / Twitter account in your browser before starting the connection process — dlvr.it will connect to whichever account is currently active.

Connecting multiple X / Twitter accounts If you manage more than one X / Twitter account, log into each one separately in your browser and connect them to dlvr.it one at a time.

Note: X / Twitter's Delegate feature is not supported. You'll need to be logged in directly as the owner of the account you want to connect.

dlvr.it automatically publishes new content to your X / Twitter profile when items appear in your connected source. Here are a few things worth knowing about how posts work on X / Twitter.

Only the first 280 characters of a post are visible in the X / Twitter timeline. If your post includes a link and you want the preview to appear, make sure the URL is within the first 280 characters.
​

To mention another X / Twitter account in a post, include the exact handle in your content. Once published, the handle will automatically become a hyperlink. Note that X / Twitter's API no longer supports handle autocomplete in third-party tools.

X / Twitter does not allow duplicate posts — publishing the same content more than once to the same account will be rejected. Make sure your feed content is varied. Additionally, you can use dlvr.it to post to a main X / Twitter profile, then retweet that post to other X / Twitter profiles.

Posting to X / Twitter is limited due to X/ Twitter's API pricing model.

Note on video: Audio-only MP4 files are not supported — the file must contain video.

Note on GIFs: If you're seeing quality loss or errors with animated GIFs, check that your file doesn't exceed the maximum resolution (1280 × 1080), frame count (350), or total pixel count (300 million).

Can dlvr.it post to multiple X / Twitter accounts at the same time? Yes - dlvr.it can post to a main X / Twitter profile, then retweet that post to other X / Twitter profiles. X / Twitter's guidelines require that posts are sent to one account at a time, but allow for retweeting the original post to additional Twitter profiles.

Can I use X / Twitter as a content source in dlvr.it? No — X / Twitter is supported as a publishing destination only. See Supported channels in dlvr.it for the full list of supported sources.

Are X / Twitter polls supported? Not at this time. Polls need to be created directly in X / Twitter.
