Add QR codes to your X posts

Turn on QR codes for your X (formerly Twitter) posts so followers can scan the image with their phone and jump straight to your shared link.

When QR codes are on, dlvr.it adds a QR code to your X posts that include a link. Followers scan it with their phone camera (or screenshot it and scan) to go straight to the link in your post.

X only: QR codes are available for X (formerly Twitter) posts only. They're the scan-to-visit companion to your link page — the public "link in bio" page dlvr.it hosts for your X profile.

Turn on QR codes for automated posts

Automated posts use your X output's settings. (Writing a post yourself? See QR codes on posts you compose below.)

  1. In dlvr.it, go to Outputs and open your X output's settings (Global Settings).

  2. On the Post Options tab, turn on Add a QR Code for the Link.

  3. Under QR Card Theme, choose Dark mode or Light mode (used when dlvr.it generates a QR Card — see below).

From now on, every automated post to this X profile that includes a link gets a QR code.

How the QR code appears

It depends on whether your link has an image:

  • Link has an image — the QR code is placed over the image.

  • Link has no image — dlvr.it generates a QR Card.

QR code over your image

The QR code sits in the bottom-right corner of the post's image. For automated posts, Include photo needs to be turned on in your output settings.

QR Card (when there's no image)

If your link has no image of its own, dlvr.it generates one for you — a QR Card:

  • A solid background with the link's title (and domain) overlaid.

  • The QR code on the right.

  • A Dark or Light theme, set with QR Card Theme.

So your post still gets a clean, scannable image even when the link didn't provide one.

QR codes on posts you compose

Posts you write yourself in Compose Post have their own QR code toggle.

  1. Open Compose Post and, under Select social accounts, select your X account.

  2. Paste your link into the body of the message.

  3. In the X customize section, turn on Add a QR Code for the Link.

  4. If the link has no image, a QR Card Theme option appears — choose Dark mode or Light mode.

  5. Post or schedule as usual.

FAQ

Which networks support QR codes? Only X (formerly Twitter).

Where does the QR code take people? To the link in your post.

Where do I turn it on for automated posts? In your X output's settings, on the Post Options tab.

Do posts I write myself get a QR code? Yes. In Compose Post, put the link in the body of your message and turn on Add a QR Code for the Link in the X customize section.

Where does the QR code appear? In the bottom-right corner of the post's image. If the link has no image, it appears on a generated QR Card instead.

Can I choose how the QR Card looks? Yes — choose Dark mode or Light mode under QR Card Theme. For automated posts it's in your X output's settings; in Compose Post it appears when the link has no image.

How do followers use it? They point their phone camera at the code (or screenshot the image and scan it) to open the link.

Does this replace my link page? No — they work together. The link page is your public "link in bio" page; QR codes make individual posts scan-to-visit.
